This is my first spoon. I carved it last week from a piece of cleft oak from the log that I’m building a hewing bench out of. There’ll be a post on that very soon.
To carve the spoon, I roughed out the shape with an axe, just like I would with a spatula. Then I whittled it down with a little chipcarving knife and hollowed out the bowl with my new Mora Erik Frost 162 hook knife.
